Your Headshot Session
Unless we are booked into a studio, your session will take place on location — this could be at your premises, mine, or a pre-arranged public location. If at a premises, I bring portable studio lighting and backdrops and everything required for that 'studio' looking headshot. Typically a headshot session takes about an hour unless you have chosen the 15 minute single shot option. We will review the shots as we take them to determine their usability. I usually try to shoot a variety of looks and lighting scenarios so you have more image types to choose from, e.g. this may include different wardrobe and backgrounds.
It is recommended you bring a variety of clothing that you feel comfortable in. Bring a range of colours, necklines and textures. If you have some favourite accessories or jewellery, bring them.
Hair and Make-Up
For women, a hair and make-up artist is strongly recommended. My preferred hair and make-up artists use the right product for my lighting and are available for $150, or $200 to stay for the entire shoot for touch-ups. For men, a hair and make-up artist is generally not required — basic grooming is usually all that is needed.
Retouching and Post-Production
For quality control, I do not provide all out of camera images — unusable images are deleted whilst basic corrections are applied to all good images before they are uploaded to your personal proofing gallery. From your online gallery you can make final image selections for retouching. Generally speaking, I can do three levels of post-production:
- basic retouching — raw file adjustments, e.g. colour corrections, contrast, brightness and sharpening
- full retouching — more advanced skin, wardrobe and background fixes
- high level retouching — extreme image transformations, skin work and background alterations.
Payment can be made via bank deposit or PayPal. Full payment is required to book a session. Once a time is set, I will email an invoice to you and upon receipt of payment, I will send a booking confirmation. If paying via bank deposit, please send a payment receipt via text message or email as it can take a few days to clear. A full refund is available if two days' cancellation notice is given. If less than two days' notice is given, 50% of your payment will be refunded. The hair and make-up artist needs to be paid separately and directly prior to any service being provided.
